MPG material with the highest level of impact resistance in composite materials

The rod is bent firmly. You can enjoy the fight! Tail walk rod for slow pitch jerking

Large bluefin, bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna, dragonfly tuna, and large rootfish are becoming increasingly popular slow jigging targets these days, and in many cases, when slow jigging with these large fish, straight fighting (straight pumping) is used without bending the rod is often used. However, it is also true that there are many anglers who want to "bend the rod and fight! It is true that there are many anglers who want to bend the rod to put pressure on the fish. For such anglers, we recommend the Slow Bump MPG, which allows anglers to experience the "battle" of bending the rod. Let's find out what kind of rod this is.

The MPG (Magnum Powerglass) is a great rod for fishing with.

Alpha Tackle, a sister brand of Tail Walk, is so popular among bait fishing fans that it is almost unknown to them. The brand was founded in 1978 and has a solid history and trustworthiness. The top-of-the-line blank material for boat fishing handled by Alpha Tackle is MPG (Magnum Power Glass). What makes MPG so special is that it is a super fiber with higher silica (SiO²) and alumina (Al²O³) content than the “E-Glass (FRP)” currently used for glass rods, improving all kinds of performance. It has 40% higher tensile strength than E-Glass and 5.5% maximum elongation, which is the highest level of toughness in composite materials. Anyway, it is different from other glass fibers and is unquestionably strong! It is the strongest fiberglass fiber in the world.

MPG, Alfa Tackle’s premier glass material, is used not as a solid, but as a tubular (hollow) blank with a medium-modulus carbon core.

The amount of resin (like glue) used to bind the fiberglass sheets together is minimized to cut down on waste, and the sheets are wrapped around the medium modulus carbon core 3~4 times more than normal MPG to increase the strength of the blank.

The bait fishing rod -> lure rod is also great!

Alfa Tackle’s boat rods made of MPG material have caught trophy-sized tuna (353 kg), blue marlin (120 kg), skilfish(80 kg), kanagi (67 kg), amberjack (50 kg), and so on, just to name a few. However, the usage of a boat rod and a lure rod are different. The biggest difference is that a lure rod requires the angler to manipulate the lure. If you try to manipulate the lure using a bait fishing rod, which will bite the hook without enticing it, the dullness of the rod will prevail. Simply put, it is unusable. The lure fishing development team at Tail Walk has tested and perfected a rod that is completely different from bait fishing rods, while using MPG material.

Guide settings are irregular but reasonable. Repeated field tests conducted by the rod development team resulted in settings unique to this rod that defy conventional wisdom. The #8 to #10 guides are equipped with M-type KW guides with a higher foot than usual, enabling smooth line fall and comfortable line take-up.

The C613-DM10 blanks are finished in black and gold to resemble yellowfin tuna, while the C615-DM15 blanks are finished in black and silver to resemble bluefin tuna. The rod craftsmen have added a touch, or two, to the wrap coating.

The display is so strong that it is “unconventional” in its presentation.

Many lure rods have power indicators such as light, medium, and heavy, or numbers like 1, 2, 3, and so on, with the higher the number, the more power it has. The C613-DM10 in the Slow Bump MPG lineup can be used with a drag setting of up to 10 kg, while the C615-DM15 can be used with a drag setting of up to 15 kg. This means that the rod can withstand a strong load. Incidentally, the 3 in 613 and the 5 in 615 mean that the weight of the jig used should be up to 350g (3) and 500g (5), respectively.
