Released in September 2024! Daiwa's dedicated slow jigging rods.

Inheriting the technology of the top-of-the-range model The long-awaited ‘Outrage SJ’ series for fans

The SALTIGA series is the pinnacle of Daiwa's offshore brand. Inheriting the core of this series, the Outrage is a high standard series that is supported by the most practical anglers. The Outrage SJ, which specialises in slow jigging, is available in a wide range of models, from light-style technical models to power models for big fish and deep fishing. Let's take a look at what the Outrage SJ has to offer.

Inheriting the technology of the top-of-the-range model The long-awaited ‘Outrage SJ’ series for fans

Blanks made from HVF Nanoplus, the same material used in the SALTIGA.

The Outrage SJ, the little brother of the Saltiga SJ, is characterised by its high performance and excellent cost performance.
The Outrage SJ uses the same HVF Nanoplus blanks as the flagship model, the Saltiga, which is a surprise. This high performance blanks is made to be resistant to torsion that occurs in all fishing actions, such as action and fighting, by the advanced technology called ‘X45 Full Shield’. This brings out the full performance of the original blanks.

Lightweight and well-balanced, the design makes it easy to handle even for beginners in slow jigging. Yet the blanks are made from high-performance materials, so it goes without saying that they are highly manoeuvrable and sensitive.

Recommended for field-tested anglers who go to the field a lot.

The Outrage SJ can be used to target snapper, flatfish, root fish (sea bream, grouper, lingcod) and bluefish (yellowtail, yellowtail, yellowtail catfish, yellowtail amberjack). Of course, the choice of rod is not limited to these fish, but should be adapted to the angler’s style.

The anglers for whom Outrage SJ is recommended are those who are frequenting the field. They are frequent visitors to the field and have a wide variety of targets to aim for each season and point, and may want to rotate tackle according to the conditions. Doing so often leads to better fishing results. However, many anglers may find it financially difficult to have a range of rods in different numbers in the ‘Soltiga SJ’ range. The Outrage SJ is recommended for such anglers.

The ZERO₋SEAT developed for the SALTIGA SJ is used. Even anglers with small hands can grip it firmly. It works well with round reels, prevents the hand from getting sore when using it, and supports rod operation for long periods of time.

Line-up for people who are into slow jigging or want to get into it.

As mentioned above, the Outrage SJ has excellent cost performance. However, the rod is packed with technology that is only possible because of Daiwa, and there are no compromises at all in the parts used.

The model line-up ranges from #0 to #5, which can be used in fields all over the country.
The #0 model is ideal for fishing shallow areas in a light style. The #0 model features a power that cannot be imagined from its slim design. Recommended for hairtail and cherry salmon.

Model #1: Ideal for capturing a wide range of inshore areas in a light style, with a variety of actions such as mix jerk and high pitch jerk to capture the target. Ideal for jigging for bluefish in shallow water.

Model #2: A light all-round lure that is the mainstay of inshore slow jigging. A must-have in modern slow jigging. Suitable for a wide variety of techniques. Can be used for fighting good-sized bluefish in coastal waters with plenty of time to spare.

Model #3: All-round model that can be used in a wide range of areas from near-shore to deep waters, regardless of depth, fishing method or target. It can be used from inshore areas to deep water, and is also useful in situations where bluefish are being searched for in deeper waters.

Model #4: Standard power model that can be used for power jerks and high-speed jerks. Powerful enough to handle large fish.

Model #5: An indispensable lure for targeting large bluefish and large root fish. Recommended for targeting deep water scampi and root fish.

The impression is that the blanks of both models have more resilience than those of the SOLTIGA SJ. Therefore, the most important feature of Outrage SJ is that the rod does its job well even with energy-saving jerking, rather than jerking with a large body.

The guides used are SiC guides, a standard and high performance guide. They do not damage the line and allow smooth thread release.

The design around the brand logo eliminates waste. The colour of the threads on either side of the Daiwa ‘D’ logo differs from model to model, making it easy to tell them apart at a glance if you own several.

Lightweight butt design. The design of the butt section is functional, yet stylish without being too inorganic.
