Reinforced blanks with Spiral X-Core and High Power X

The NEW OCEA Jigger ∞ motive, to be launched in 2024, will be available in seven 6-fee 10-inch lengths, ranging from No. 0 (compatible jig weights 40-130g) to No. 6 (180-500g). The major change in the new models is the blank material. Previous models used Spiral X blanks, but this model has a more advanced Spiral X Core. This is based on Shimano’s unique Spiral X blank manufacturing technology and uses carbon tape with high-strength resin made possible by NANOALLOY® technology. This dramatically increases torsion and twitch strength. Compared to the Spiral X, the torsion strength is up by 10% and the twitch strength by 15%, which is surprising.

Furthermore, the Hyper X, which tightens carbon tape in an X shape on the outermost layer of the blanks, maintains the rod’s directional bending intended by the angler and draws out the full potential of the blanks. The rod’s manoeuvrability is not compromised by the blurring, and the sudden loss of power in the blanks that occurs under high loads due to blurring is eliminated.

New design that makes it easier to ‘bend’.

Jigging masters place importance on ‘fall’ of jigs as a strategy to get anglers to bite. It is a well-known fact that a long-length rod can effectively produce this effect. However, it is common knowledge that long-length rods are tiring and the accuracy of jerking deteriorates. It is fair to say that NEW MOTIVE has overturned this common sense.

In the NEW MOTIVE, the blanks have been reviewed to reduce blurring, and the bending curve has been changed to be more resistant to twitching. The bending curve relies more on the potential of the blanks and the fulcrum of the bend is closer to the angler, allowing the jig to bounce more easily. The deeper bend also makes the performance more sensitive to changes and loads. The rod is designed so that anglers can realise that ‘bending does not mean powerless’ thanks to the strength of the blanks‘ restoring power, rather than the blanks’ repulsive power that loads the angler.

The rod has been changed by adopting an integrally structured guide frame.

The blanks are the best we could get. The guides are the key to making the most of this and making the rod easy to use for anglers.

The X-Guide 3D Titanium used in the NEW MOTIVE is an integrally structured guide frame formed by Shimano’s cold forging technology. Its features are light, strong and free from edges that can damage PE line. It is also angled to prevent thread tangling. Furthermore, the guide foot, which affects the bending of the blank, has been designed to be as short as possible.

From now on, as autumn deepens, bluefish, mid- to deep-sea fish and tongegi will become more and more interesting. We hope that you will take advantage of these new high-performance rods.

The rear grip is made of carbon, which has excellent vibration transmission and transmits changes to the angler. The refined shape and material feel give the rod a presence like no other.
