New item added to the popular Battle Whip series of Ikametal rods!
Short-length model with enhanced playability now available
Yamaga Blanks, a blank manufacturer, releases high-performance rods that are reliable and trustworthy. The three models added to the Battle Whip series of boat eging rods in 2025—IM511S, IM511B, and OR60B/C—are designed to meet the evolving needs of Ikametal game fishing. Let's take a closer look at their features.

Three new models added to the IM and OR series
The Battle Whip series, released for boat eging and squid metal fishing, already includes three existing models: IM69/S, IM69/B, and OR72/C. The three new models added this time are the short-length IM511S, IM511B, and OR60B/C.
First, let’s explain the IM and OR series. The IM series features a carbon solid tip design, ideal for targeting squid under the boat using techniques like single jigs or overhand rigs. This series allows anglers to visually detect subtle changes in the water that don’t transmit to the handle, thanks to its sensitive tip.
The OR series is primarily designed for casting with an underhand motion using a weight rig. By pulling sideways, it allows for a wide search area and adapts to challenging conditions. As a result, it is a tubular model that combines casting performance and sensitivity.

The two new IM511 models feature a delicate solid tip design, specifically tailored for fishing under the boat.

The new OR60B/C is a tubular model. It has power while enabling underhand casting and offers a sensitive action that allows you to detect bites during a curve fall.
The major difference from existing models
The IM69 (spinning and bait models), released earlier than the IM511/S and IM511/B, utilizes its 6-foot-9-inch length to deflect waves and clearly detect bites. It also has the characteristic of being able to entice with a large stroke. The 5-foot-11-inch model was created with a different concept.
In recent Ikametal games, there has been an increase in fishing in areas with fast currents and deep water. Therefore, there is a need for a short length with sharper power and superior operability. The IM511/S and IM511/B were created to meet this need.

【Battle Whip IM511/S】LINE: 0.4–0.8 EGI: MAX 40
Developed to respond to speedy lures, the thin, lightweight blank has the power to easily lift even large multi-hook lures. This model is designed for speedy fishing that takes advantage of the fast fall speed of spinning reels.

【Battle Whip IM511/B】Line: 0.4–0.8 oz EGI: MAX 50 oz
Sharing the same blank as the spinning model, this high-power model offers responsive handling even when using 50-pound lead jigs. Yet it also handles lighter jigs of 10–15 pounds with sharp precision. Designed for fishing that requires meticulous targeting of specific points using a counter-equipped baitcasting reel.
Overcoming adverse conditions: a bait model for jigging
The Battle Whip OR60B/C is a bait-type sinker rig model. The existing OR72B/C model was developed to overcome adverse conditions such as fast currents or strong two-layer currents. When using heavy sinkers around 40-gram, casting with spinning tackle becomes difficult. Additionally, the load during reeling due to strong currents is immense. This bait tackle was developed to address this situation.
The OR60B/C inherits the concept of the OR72B/C, but while the OR72B/C is best suited for sinkers weighing 15–30 grams and depths up to approximately 40 meters, the OR60B/C can handle sinkers weighing over 40 grams and is designed to handle deeper ranges over 50 meters and fast currents. Even when using 10–15-gram sinkers, the blank is designed to maintain sensitivity.

A model designed for underhand casting in sideways fishing (omoriggame). A bait model designed for ease of casting with heavy sinkers and for winding power under high loads caused by strong currents.

【Battle Whip OR60B/C】 LINE: 0.4–0.8 oz. Vertical: MAX 60 oz.
A model developed to leverage the advantages of choosing bait tackle for omoriggame. The 6-foot length facilitates underhand casting and offers superior maneuverability compared to longer rods. The high-sensitivity tubular design allows for fishing techniques such as detecting bites during a curved fall while thumb-rolling.
