High body rigidity despite low-profile

Interlocking with Smartphones and Other Devices! Next-Generation Jigging Reels!

The Tierra IC 300-C released by Daiwa (available in four models: 300 with normal gears and right-hand drive, 300L with normal gears and left-hand drive, 300H, a high-gear model, and 300HL with left-hand drive and high gears) has a low-profile body for easy permitting. Although previously considered impossible, the body rigidity of the low-profile models is comparable to that of round reels, making them both strong and easy to handle. Furthermore, this reel is compatible with the Daiwa Connected system, which allows for highly repeatable fishing. It is truly a next-generation jigging reel. In this issue, we take a closer look at this reel, the Tierra IC 300-C.

Interlocking with Smartphones and Other Devices! Next-Generation Jigging Reels!

Hyperdrive design for long-lasting initial performance

The Tierra IC 300-C is a bait reel with a body design that can handle delicate fishing while pursuing the high durability required of jigging reels these days. The hyperdrive design in this reel consists mainly of these four technologies: hyperdrive digi gear, hyper double support, hyper armed housing, and hyper tough clutch.

The hyperdrive gears are designed to increase the engagement rate without reducing the gear tooth module size. This means that the gear’s durability is not compromised and smoothness is sustained.
Hyper double support places bearings at both ends of the pinion gear to ensure light winding even under heavy loads.
The Hyper Armed Housing uses aluminum alloy for the frame, side plate (handle side), and set plate to provide body rigidity comparable to that of a round reel, allowing the built-in system to function properly.
In addition to this, the hyper-tough clutch installed is a system that avoids clutch trouble to an extent that it can be called the ultimate. It has resulted in a 99% reduction in the number of sticking repairs at Daiwa.
In addition to these features, the system is equipped with ATD, a system that enables smooth drag slippage, synchronized level wind that moves left and right even when the jig falls with the clutch free, electronic drag sound, IC counter, and more.

The drag sound when the drag is activated is produced by physical resistance. In other words, extra resistance was created to produce this sound. The Tierra IC300-C removes this drag mechanism and uses an electronic drag sound, resulting in smoother drag performance.

The IC counter is equipped with a comprehensive range of counter functions that are convenient to have when jigging and tilefishing. It enables reproducible fishing and helps anglers to beat other anglers.

Battery box that can be opened and closed without the need for special tools. Equipped with a memory that eliminates the need to redo line input even if the battery is removed. Uses CR2032 coin cell batteries, which are available at convenience stores.

Mechanical brake knob for quick setting when making light undercasts or adjusting jig fall speed. It is possible to change the setting with fewer turns than usual.

75-85 mm crank handle arm for easy use in various jigging situations, including one-pitch jerking. Made of strong and tough aluminum.

All data is recorded on a smartphone.

Of course, you can record data that is often forgotten, such as the number and length of line wound on the reel. The reel is equipped with the Daiwa Connecting System, which allows anglers to use their smartphones to make settings that would be troublesome if done with the buttons on the reel itself. Furthermore, from 2025, it will be possible to link with wearable devices such as smartwatches and hearable devices such as earphones, increasing convenience!

The Tierra IC300-C is a next-generation jigging reel that is Daiwa Connected compatible.

Various alarm sounds and electronic drag sounds can be set from a smartphone. No buttons on the reel itself to operate, easy to set.

This is convenient! Not only the depth of water for a lure falling straight down, but also the depth of water when falling at an angle is instantly displayed. This is a display function that is appreciated when jigging for tilefish and dotella fishing.

By tapping on the screen to mark when a hit occurs, it is possible to grasp the hit pattern when fishing and to use it for analysis after the fishing trip.
