INDEX
Concentration of XESTA Rod Technology
Light casting fishing has become popular in recent years. From targeting sea bass and Spanish mackerel in bays to bonito game in the open sea, medium-sized bluefish, and dolphinfish, it is an easy and enjoyable method of fishing. However, casting distance, maneuverability, sensitivity, and other factors can make a difference in the choice of fishing equipment. This is why XESTA has developed the “Catapult Light Specs,” which is introduced here.
This model was designed by concentrating the blank technology that XESTA has cultivated so far. It was developed based on the concept of “enjoying offshore inshore casting games by bending lightly,” and is equipped with the performance to handle multiple tasks from the popular blade jigging to jerking and twitching using plugs.
The latest material “TORAYCA ®️T1100-G” is used
What is noteworthy about this model is that it uses the latest blank material, “TORAYCA ®️T1100-G.” This material is made by Toray Industries, Inc. This material was developed by Toray Industries, Inc. and is called third-generation carbon. Compared to conventional carbon fiber, this material has a higher strength and modulus of elasticity and is superior in balance. It can withstand higher loads and also has high resilience, allowing the lure to be cast with less force. And it is lightweight. Furthermore, the tip does not shake easily after casting, resulting in less trouble as well as more accurate casting. This latest material is used in the new Catapult Light Spec. Despite its slim blanks, it can be cast a long distance with little effort when casting, and when manipulating blade jigs and plugs, it transmits information well and can be operated as desired. It also responds well to unexpected big fish hits.
Two models, best for blades and best for plugs
So, what models are in the lineup? The first two models to be born in 2025 are the S66L-J and the S72ML. Both models are designed for a wide range of uses, but the S66L-J will be the best jigging blank model for blade jigging. It can cast blade jigs firmly even underwater, and can also cast plugs. Equipped with fast-tapered high elasticity blanks for sensitivity to catch small bites In addition, it has butt power to handle hits from large fish. The blade jig can be used from shallow to deep water.

Matching jig: Casting 60 g, slow max 180 g. Matching plug: Casting max 50 g. Matching line: PE 0.8-2. Body weight: 119 g. Price: To be determined.
The S72ML, on the other hand, is a model that excels at casting games with plugs, although it also works well with blades. Fast taper and high elasticity blank minimizes blurring when casting and ensures a good casting distance. Easy to handle minnows and top water plugs, and good at jerking and twitching action. Of course, it is also compatible with vibrations, etc. This model is ideal for plucking for sea bass, Spanish mackerel, and medium-sized bluefish. Both models are designed to be used as one-and-a-half lures, making them very portable.

Matching jig: Casting 80 g. Matching plug: Casting MAX 70 g. Matching line: PE 0.8-2. Body weight: 119 g. Price: To be determined
