Tango Jerk Compatible, the Ultimate Technical Short Spinning Jigging Rod
Hidden in its 5-foot-5-inch length Overwhelming maneuverability and lightness that surpasses strength The SALTIGA J TS is here!
For anglers pursuing unknown big game in offshore waters, DAIWA has developed numerous SALTIGA tackle models utilizing the latest technology. Models bearing the SALTIGA name are not only the strongest and highest-performing, but in today's environment requiring delicate techniques, they must also offer superiority in pinpoint techniques that go beyond mere “strength” and “high performance.” Such a rod has now been born.

INDEX
Utilizing DAIWA’s cutting-edge technology
Born in the Tango area of the Sea of Japan, where the water is deep, the seabed is relatively uniform, and two-layer currents are common, the Tango Jerk is a technique that maximizes the appeal of a jig to entice targets. This jerk consists of high-speed reeling using spinning tackle and technical rod action. The rod required for this jerk must possess exceptional maneuverability. The rod that embodies this concept using DAIWA’s cutting-edge technology is the SALTIGA J TS (TECHNICAL STEER).
Its most notable feature is its short length of 5 feet 5 inches. Generally, the shorter the rod, the more challenging it becomes to achieve the desired action, which can result in a loss of the delicate feel required for lure manipulation. However, DAIWA has addressed this by incorporating its latest technology to reinforce the blank, achieve lightweight construction, and design a robust taper. The rod is finished with a slim profile, and even the guides and guide wrapping utilize cutting-edge technology for further weight reduction. The result is the SALTIGA J TS, a rod of such high quality that even experts are impressed. Thanks to its high maneuverability, it is not only ideal for the aforementioned Tango Jerk technique, which combines precise single-pitch movements with large jerks, but also for combination jerks that mix various sizes and intensities of jerks. This model is recommended for anglers who utilize jerking techniques to attack fish.

The blank is made of SVF Nano Plus (M40X). This ultra-high-density carbon SVF achieves “thin, strong, and light,” and is combined with Toray’s Nano Alloy Technology using DAIWA’s proprietary manufacturing method to enhance power.

The carbon frame guide AGS contributes to lightweight design and achieves high sensitivity. Additionally, instead of thread, carbon cloth is used for guide wrapping to reduce weight, enhancing holding power (twist rigidity at the guide mounting point) and durability (crack resistance).
A design that is uncompromising in both aesthetics and functionality, befitting the flagship model for offshore fishing.
The SALTIGA J TS is a model that inherits the DNA of “SALTIGA,” DAIWA’s strongest offshore series, and therefore makes no compromises in any detail. Not only the core components of rod design such as the blank and guides, but also parts like the reel seat that transmit information from the rod to the angler, and the grip—crucial during action and fights—all carry the essence of “SALTIGA.”

Instead of the commonly available reel seat, the SALTIGA J TS features DAIWA’s newly developed ZERO-SEAT, designed for improved fit and comfortable jerking.

The nameplate, which serves as the face of the rod, uses a raised seal, evoking the premium feel of a flagship model.

The grip area, which significantly influences both the rod’s appearance and usability, appears to have been meticulously refined through extensive field testing. There is no doubt that this grip design maximizes the blank’s performance.
Three models available
Three models are available this time. The length is standardized at 5 feet 5 inches to pursue technical maneuverability, allowing the jig to be moved as desired in any situation, while also allowing selection based on line thickness and water depth. The features of each model are as follows.
55S-2.5
A lightweight model designed to reduce physical strain. This model can handle everything from swift jerks in water depths of 40 meters plus to slow, controlled movements in deep areas. It is a light-power rod compatible with PE 2.5 and jig weights up to 220 grams.
55S-3
The all-round model at the heart of the series. It offers the series’ highest versatility, enabling the ideal jig action for any water depth. Compatible with PE3 line and jig weights up to 250g.
55S-4
A power model designed for deep-water areas. Capable of handling heavy-weight jigs and engaging in direct battles with bluefish weighing over 10kg in areas where the line extends beyond 80m. This model features a stiffer tip compared to other models, providing a direct and responsive feel. Compatible with PE4 line and jig weights up to 300g.
