Reliable performance against large fish
Rods to watch out for in bluefin tuna casting TRUTH JAPAN “Whitelnsight 7610” and “Whitelnsight 8210”
Bluefin tuna fishing in Japan is becoming increasingly popular every year due to the recovery of resources and the evolution of tackle, which has increased the chances of catching fish. Among the rods that caught the reporter's attention in bluefin tuna fishing is TRUTH JAPAN's “Whitelnsight 7610” and “Whitelnsight 8210,” designed for tuna fishing in strong currents.

INDEX
A Reliable Rod Manufacturer: TRUTH JAPAN
In bluefin tuna fishing, the opponent is an enormous size, so the tackle must be strong and capable of smoothly lifting the fish once hooked. However, strength alone is not enough; the angler must be able to endure the fight. After the hit, the rod must be bent firmly when possible, utilizing the rod’s recovery force to apply pressure, tire the fish out as much as possible, and gradually close the distance. Such rods are naturally more reliable when created or supervised by those with extensive experience in fighting fish.
TRUTH JAPAN, the manufacturer we are introducing today, offers a wide range of rods born from such experience and extensive testing. The company is led by Daisuke Maeda, who has worked for a rod blank manufacturer for many years and has created numerous rods based on his own experience interacting with fish. Among these, we would like to introduce two new models of bluefin tuna casting rods.
High-power model compatible with PE10 (12)
“Whitelnsight 7610”
This “Whitelnsight 7610” model is an upgraded version of the 7210 model, which was released in 2020 and has a proven track record. The 7210 model was tested by the captain of the charter boat Steel, which continuously targets bluefin tuna in Hakodate, and received high praise for its line release, casting distance, and maneuverability. However, based on feedback that “experienced anglers targeting over 100kg in the turbulent Tsugaru Strait might find it lacking in power,” the 7610 was developed. The power has been increased by 120% compared to the 7210. It was developed to withstand prolonged high-load fights in strong currents, achieve long-distance casting performance, and handle a wide range of applications from sardines to large yellowfin tuna patterns. Tests were conducted not only on bluefin tuna in the Tsugaru Strait but also on spinning marlin, yellowtail amberjack, and GT in Yonaguni Island. The performance was verified through various uses, not just bluefin tuna, to refine the details and bring it closer to completion.
In terms of blank performance, the rod is designed to be set up using a gimbal suspended from the waist belt, concentrating the load on the rod end. This reduces the strain on the arms, back muscles, and grip strength, enabling prolonged fights. Incidentally, the previously released 7210 is said to be suitable for those tackling bluefin tuna in the Tsugaru Strait for the first time, smaller anglers, and use on small boats. On the other hand, the 7610 is a model suitable for those who are experienced in fighting fish, those who engage in aggressive fighting, and those who are considering using PE12 line.

The “Whitelnsight8210” is specialized for long casts with PE10 line.
The “Whitelnsight8210” will be released in July 2025. This model is designed for bluefin tuna weighing around 120kg, as well as GT, large yellowtail, and against-the-wind tactics, offering high versatility. It builds on the 7210 model with enhanced power and a longer length for improved casting distance. It is compatible with pencil lures and diving poppers. During fights, it reduces physical strain by handling high loads and sudden movements, but as a power model, it is recommended for individuals weighing 70kg or more. This model was developed through repeated testing in locations such as the Tsugaru Strait for bluefin tuna and Tokara or Tanegashima for GT.
