Hook selection is important!
Hook selection makes a big difference in fishing results. The ideal hook is one that is sure to hook and, once hooked, does not come off 100% of the time. However, because hooks that are easy to hook and hooks that penetrate deep and do not come off easily have different shapes, it is difficult to match these two types of hooks at the “highest standard” of performance. Nevertheless, manufacturers are constantly researching and developing new products that are easy to hook, quickly penetrate deep into the lure, and are difficult to dislodge. Owner Bari, whose products are introduced here, is of course one such manufacturer. Many of the Cartiva brand hooks that Owner Bari will be releasing this spring are lure hooks for large fish. Many large fish only get a few chances a day. If you are fishing with a lot of hits, you may be able to give up on it by simply saying that your hook selection failed this time and the number of fish you caught was low, but if you encounter a bite from a large fish that you may only encounter once in your lifetime, you cannot say so. Therefore, we want to carefully examine and select the best one for you. We have already reported on the exhibition in an article, but we would like to provide more detailed information.
[Casting Hooks]
C A-141 Casting Plug Assist
All-land single hook assist for casting plugs in general. Uses SJ-41TN, which has a proven track record as a single hook for casting game. Although originally designed for jigging, it is the most standard shape among all Cartiva hooks, and many anglers have used it for plugs because of its moderate thickness, sufficient strength, and ease of hooking and holding. Therefore, Cartiva has designed an extra short hook for use with plugs. This hook is designed to prevent the lure from hugging the hook and hooking mistakes, and the lineup can be adapted to plugs from 105 mm to 240 mm in diameter. It is also compatible with tackle from No. 4 to No. 8 PE. The super-strong solid ring allows anglers to power-fight with confidence.

C A-161 Big Game Plug Assist
Single assist hook for plugs developed with targeting of super-large fish in mind. Targeted targets are 30 kg class sunfish, 200 kg large bluefin tuna, and 50 kg GT. In order to ensure that these fish are caught, this hook is designed to accommodate 15-20 kg of hydrag, and is also designed for grueling fights in shallow areas with fast currents and long fights with 200 kg class fish. The wide gape short shank design with thick line shape and fluorine coating quickly penetrates to the gape and holds. The assist line uses a strong Zylon knot and is equipped with a super-strong solid ring. This is the item you want to select for the challenge of catching the big fish of your dreams.

For those who want to make a single hook for plugs with their own preferred length of assist line
S-161M Big Game Single”, a single hook, is also available.

Additional sizes added to Jigger Medium and Jigger Medium Short
The Blue Chaser assist hook, which uses the “Jigger Medium Chaser,” is now available in an additional size 13/0. The hook is strong enough to handle large fish such as yellowtail and amberjack, and has a hook tip shape and micro barb for quick insertion, and an angled hook shape that prevents easy removal once inserted. The Blue Chaser is now available in an additional size, 13/0. This item should be selected by anglers who challenge larger fish, and is the ideal model for jigging for bluefin tuna, deep water kampachi, large dogtooth tuna, large root fish, and bluefin tuna. In addition to the normal model, the 13/0 model is also available in the short model lineup. This model is ideal for use with plugs or as a rear hook when jigging maguro jigging, where the jig falls to the hook and the fish bites.

[Casting]
STX-60 Stinger Triple Extra
Triple hook designed in 6-power class with high-strength tough wire with curved points. Cartiva has so far had the ST-66 and STX-68 hooks in the same 6-power class triple hook, but these were straight point models. On the other hand, this new model uses an exquisite curved point, which has the same ease of penetration as a straight point, but once it starts to penetrate, the performance is that it penetrates deep and firmly. The curved point usually has disadvantages such as falling off and picking up fish meat thinly, but the new model achieves a “curved point that hangs” by creating an oddly balanced point. The point portion has a shortened taper length, and is equipped with power that is competitive with large fish. The taper length of the point has been shortened to provide power that can easily hook a large fish. The wider section reduces the strength of the lure, but this is eliminated by flattening the lure. This model is best suited for large target fish such as GT, yellowfin tuna, and sunfish.
