20 years since its birth. Unwavering reliability! Increased strength and rigidity for tougher use. 24 CERTATE SW
The 24 CERTATE SW (No. 4000-6000) is scheduled for release in September as a dedicated saltwater model. The 24 CERTATE SW is known for its dramatically increased strength and rigidity, and in anticipation of its release, we will introduce some of the features that have evolved from the previous model, the 21 CERTATE SW. The 24 CERTATE SW is known for its dramatically increased strength and rigidity.
INDEX
Rotor made by ZIAON, newly designed exclusively for the 24 CERTATE SW
The 24 CERTATE SW (No. 4000-6000) is said to have overwhelmingly more rigid rotors than the previous 21 CERTATE SW model. The fact that the rotor does not flex means that hooking is firmly determined. The rotor also allows the angler to feel the reel’s reeling power when fighting good-sized fish in offshore waters. And the drag slides smoothly.
This rotor is called the Air Drive Rotor, which was also installed in the 21 CERTATE SW, but in the 24 model it is made of newly designed SW-specific ZIAON and has a new shape that is lighter while maintaining rigidity. This reduces the weight of the rotor at the beginning of the handle winding, allowing the angler to smoothly reel in the line while moving the lure.
Drive gear is [G1 duralumin], which is superior to [super duralumin].
What makes the smoothness of the winding feel possible is the drive gear made of [G1 duralumin], which is newly introduced in the 24 CERTATE SW. Until now, the duralumin with high strength was considered to be [super duralumin], but [G1 duralumin] has a strength exceeding that of [super duralumin]. This is used in Daiwa’s top-of-the-range saltwater-specific model, the SALTIGA. The material of the drive gear, which can be said to be the heart of the lure, has been changed to [G1 Duralumin], which reduces deflection under heavy loads and dramatically increases the power when winding the lure.
Full metal body with [monocoque body] without screws.
From the above, you can see that the rigidity and strength of the parts and materials used in the 24 CERTATE SW (No. 4000~6000) have increased compared to the previous model, the 21 CERTATE SW, but the most important factor in supporting this is the body.
The body of a conventional spinning reel is formed by joining the main part and the body cover (=side body) using several screws. The 24 SALTIGA SW uses a [monocoque body], which means that no screws are used to join the body.
Not only this, but the 24 CERTATE SW’s [monocoque body] is made entirely from aluminium. In other words, it is a full metal body. This enables the lure to make full use of the characteristics of the strong gear with no deflection, and enables smooth reeling in.
The 4000, 5000 and 6000 models are ideal for use on inshore offshore targets. The models with torque beyond their size give anglers an advantage.
