The blanks are made with a lot of thought!

When APIA was founded, it was involved in the production of offshore rods. The company has since developed and released a range of shore-based rods, mainly for seabass, but in recent years it has turned its attention to offshore and developed an offshore casting rod, which was unveiled at the 2024 Fishing Show and is now finally available for sale. That is the Grandage World Ocean.

The blank material used for this rod is mainly TORAYCA® third generation [T1100G]. T1100G is the world’s highest strength class carbon fibre, a medium to high modulus carbon fibre with a tensile strength of 33t. It is the most advanced carbon fibre and boasts the highest tensile strength of any carbon fibre (carbon) in existence today. In addition to strength, the material also accelerates the rod speed when casting and makes bends more supple. The design of the rod has a flexible tip and a strong, tough action in the butt.

The rods also come with the [APIA Premium Guarantee]. This means that until five years have passed since the rod was discontinued, it can be repaired any number of times for a deductible amount, with no limit on the number of repairs. Most rods from other manufacturers have a warranty valid for one year after purchase. Most of them are limited to once per part. In this context, the [APIA Premium Warranty] is a groundbreaking service.

The figures are incomparably higher than those of the previous generation of carbon. The fact that the deadweight has remained almost the same is due to the evolution of the material.

The fact that the APIA is a rod that flies remains unchanged.

As mentioned above, the blank of the Grandage World Ocean Series is based on [T1100G], which has the world’s highest class strength. However, not only that, we have adopted APIA’s original new technology [BULK405] based on [T1100G], and made the blank 150% stronger in terms of breaking strength.

The rod’s balance has been improved to achieve a higher feel of control. This ensures the brand concept of ‘APIA = Rods that can fly’. In addition, even when the angler casts with only about 60% of force, the distance is almost 90% of a full cast, which promises to reduce the burden on the angler’s body in situations where the angler is throwing all day long on an unstable boat.

BULK405 is reinforced with APIA’s original technology. It allows for fighting on one-lak.

In two-piece rods, the blank thickness at the joints increases, so only these parts of the rod do not bend ideally. This was solved by adopting NANOALLOY®Technology and developing a new joint system ‘NANO JOINT’, an original APIA joint system. In addition, the joints are finished with ultra-high-precision grinding of 2~5/1000ths of a millimetre to prevent them from loosening. Incidentally, because NANO JOINT is polished with ultra-high precision, the use of ferrule wax is unnecessary.
