The concept is an easy-to-use rod
Smith’s Offshore Stick Baudeville, set to be released this summer, is designed for popular targets such as Spanish mackerel, seabass, bonito, bluefish, and yellowtail, which can be easily caught in coastal waters. It also handles casting for large yellowfin tuna, amberjack, and GT. The Baudeville’s standout feature is its overall balance, which sets it apart from casting rods that prioritize lifting power. Such rods are a specialty of Smith, a veteran manufacturer that has been releasing offshore rods since 1986. While experts were involved in the development, the rod is not one that only experts can master. It is a refined model that has shed its sharp edges.

Six models of the rod will be released, with three types of grips, each with its own characteristics.
A 7-foot model with excellent maneuverability
for light game fishing in coastal waters
[OBD-S70ML]
This model features maneuverability that allows you to twitch minnows and sinkers, which are standard lures for sea bass fishing, as well as torque that can withstand the power of medium-sized bluefish and bonito. It also handles ultra-high-speed reeling of metal vibes and blade jigs for Spanish mackerel fishing. The 7-foot length is ideal for underhand casting from charter boats.

The 70ML and 78ML models feature MN top guides, while others use K guides.
The popular Spanish mackerel game in recent years
Excellent compatibility with blade jigs!!
[OBD-S78ML]
Spanish mackerel, which feed on sardines, are rich in fat and are popular as a premium target for the dinner table. In recent years, the main lures used in this type of fishing are blade jigs and metal vibes. These lures have weight and resistance, so the rod requires a strong action, but at the same time, it must have the flexibility to not reject bites while reeling in the lure. The S78ML eliminates bite rejection by featuring a smooth-bending regular taper. This long-cast model is designed for bay area and nearshore casting games, with a length of 7 feet 8 inches.
Emphasizing control casting
Mastering the challenging bonito game
[OBD-S86M]
The bonito game requires keen eyesight and pinpoint casting from a distance. Even in such challenging situations, this model offers the long-distance casting performance to reach the school of fish with an overhead cast and the excellent control performance to strike the front of the school, where the large bonito are located. It also supports the skipping method for searching a wide area of the water surface.

Equipped with MN top guides, K guides, and MNSG guides on the butt.
Assist grip installed!!
Supports jig casting for payao
【OBD-S86MH】
The Payao jig casting method targets fish around Payao by casting a 50–80g jig and jerking it at a certain depth to lure them. This is a popular method because it is effective, and the 【OBD-S86MH】 is designed to accommodate it. Its biggest feature is its lightweight design, making it easy to handle even for anglers with limited physical strength or women. The attached assist grip supports prolonged fights.

The assist grip is the grip located in front of the foregrip. When an angler’s grip strength reaches its limit during a fight, switching to the assist grip—which has a different thickness—allows the fingers to recover from the strain of gripping tightly.

The 86MH, 86H, and 86XH models feature MN top guides and MNSG guides in other sections.
Standard model for nearshore targets
Ideal for targeting yellowfin tuna and amberjack
【OBD-S86H】
Excels when using diving pencils or sinking pencils for targeting yellowfin tuna and amberjack. Its balanced length, weight, and action allow for stress-free casting. Even when large fish are hooked, the powerful butt section provides a secure fight. At 8 feet 6 inches in length, it allows for a water-friendly action by lowering the tip when maneuvering lures from the bow of a boat with a high deck.
The strongest model yet,
designed with the angler’s comfort in mind.
【OBD-S86XH】
The strongest model in the series, yet designed with balanced action to minimize strain on the angler during the fight, allowing the fish to surface smoothly. Compatible with plugs over 180mm in length, targeting a wide range of species including large yellowfin tuna, skipjack tuna, medium-sized bluefin tuna, and GT. The assist grip reduces fatigue during long fights.
